Problem of my truck solved I have booked a rental truck and will be bringing my camper. Going to be the maiden trip in it. And Mr Deits has been kind enough to give me his wall tent. So let it rain and hail like the last gathering I dont care. No more putting up tarps in the rain or a cold wet tent for me.

I started the first gathering and since then done about a doz of these as some of you know and they always turn out great. But this one is different With the help of some great people everything has been sorted out. I take my hat off to you all. As for the food list I found that no matter what people respond with there will be a wonderful feast to be had. I am doing Nakoda Lodge in about 4 hrs and Bullshead on Sunday. I hope the rest of you are going to have a great weekend on the water as well. Good luck out there and stay safe

We can have the site on Friday at 2pm, now if there is no one in the group camp site we can get in earlier. I would imagine there will be no one in it. As for me i will be up there around 1 oclock as I have the combo for the lock.

So Amelia Reminded me about the "Spiderdogs"
A fun thing to do for kids while cooking hotdogs on an open fire. So there will be enough spiderdogs for everyone.

And the excitement builds!!!!!!

Default Medicine Lake road

My family came back that way on Sunday. The road from highway 22 is hell. Very rough and potholed. The road from Rimbey was good.

The pike were feeding in the shallows on perch minnows. It was great to watch. Loads of minnows so the pike are feeding well. Take smelts and perch colorations, you should get lucky. God! I'm getting old if I think that is getting lucky.

I pulled my rig in there from 22 and it was a little rough but I didn't think that bad. Of course I am used to no roads so this was an upgrade.

Thanks for the info though-I will go through Rimbey this time to check the difference.

Shelly, from calgary if it was me i would come up 2 north, west at Bowden, north 22, to Sundre, West through Sundre than north 22 to Caroline. West 54 and north 22 to Rocky, west 11 and north 22 again to Medicine lake. Way less traffic. Or 2 to Red Deer and 11 to 22 north, up to you but you'll get more traffic that way. The other way is a little snakey but a nice drive all the way.

All costs for camping will be paid to her upon arrival at the gathering please. We will set up some sack races and what not for the kids. We would like to do prizes for all the kids. Now either we do a donation thing or we can charge an extra 10 bucks for camping fee's or whatever for a trip to the kids department store. But we will look at this a little more when we know how many kids and ages will be there.

Please post here:

Age Of Children
Pot Luck Contribution

Any suggestions of events or just in general please feel free to share them right here or send me a PM. I am looking forward to meeting new freinds and catching up with the old ones
Just in case I dont have time this eve to post>>>>> The whole idea of this gathering was for the kids and is to be kid orintated. I just want everyone to keep this in mind while at the gathering. Not that as adults we cant have fun but we must keep the kids uppermost in our mind for this weekend. Also remember we are in a Provincial campground and Provincial campground rules apply. Medicine Lake staff advised me that as long as no one complains than a little noise is acceptable after11pm. But if they can hear us at the reg camp site we will be shut down. If they hear us up there we are loud. I hope everyone that attends this function will have a wonderful time and we will try to keep the kids as busy as we can. Im just so sorry jst1 and mrsjst2 will not be there. Jeff is the life of the party and a great host. So I will see everyone there with bells on and fishing rods at the ready. The kids are going to have a blast....:sHa_shak eshout:
