Tent wood stove???
Where else besides Cabelas and Peavy Mart can a guy find a quality wood stove for a wall tent? They’re entirely out of stock in the Edmonton area.
Thx

There is a huge variety of stoves that vary greatly in weight, quality, heat output, clearance requirements etc. You first need to decide exactly what you want for a stove, after that go online and you can find a whole load of places to buy them from.

I just purchased a pretty fantastic stove from the Wall Tent Shop online. They are based out of Utah but have a dealer in Castlegar BC. They have both a cylinder and square option. Both are airtight with a sealed door.
I went with the Wilderness which is the square version. It’s a great stove and possibly a bit big for my tent but I plan to upgrade my tent in the future. It’s also a pretty heavy unit so that may not work for you depending on your needs.
It wasn’t a cheap stove but I bought the whole set up, water tank, warming shelf, nesting pipe and spark arrestor.

Buy a used steel drum (kijiji) and a stove conversion kit (amazon) and you'll have a nice big stove that will last a long time and chew through wood efficiently.
Thanks.

Another vote for the Deluxe stove. They are heavy but hold heat very well. My buddy had a thin wall style stove in his tent (less money) but it would not keep the heat like the one I have. If your packing in, the Deluxe is not the right stove, but qudding in or trucking in, it one of the best I think.

You can try princess auto, but it's not a common thing they stock. But good price.
Camper's village might have some great west metal stoves - airtight and oven models.... they are not bad - cheapish (like 100-200, don't come as a complete kit, last I checked - but they sell pipe at camper's village too). Check out the site sponsor like people are saying too. Good idea to support the sponsors.

I have one of these as well, love it. Bought the biggest one to heat a 12 by 14 tent and I don't regret going bigger. It will burn all night stuffed with wood and damped down. Have had it around 7 years now and had to replace the door gasket this year but wasn't hard to do at all. There was some drafting issues with it at times but it had more to do with trying to make it work with a side exit stove pipe. The options were to reconfigure the stove height and piping to try and solve it or sew a new roof jack in. Decided to go the roof jack route and all good now plus I don't have to pack near as much stuff for the piping as the nesting pipe all fits in the stove. If you have a roof jack you won't have any issues at all. You can burn coal in it if you want but haven't tried that yet.
Sits well off the ground as well which is nice for loading and minimizes the chance of igniting the area around the stove if you don't have some sort of base for it.

You can never have a 'too Big' wood stove in the tent. Large stove loaded will easily get through night with nice slow burn. They work great when you do not have a hunting partner with a weak bladder.

Priness auto actually has them on sale right now. Not the greatest quality I'm sure, but would work for the occasional outing

Dean always liked the old airtights excellent heater. My father sold hundreds of them to the homesteaders in Peace country to keep from freezing in -50oC winters. When you have larger one can fit all the pipes inside for transport.
