Default NSR Sturgeon pics......

Here is a pic of the sturgeon YoungBlood caught down at the river near Devon yesterday. We were fishing a deephole with pickrell rigs baited with worms. This is the 4th sturgeon we've caught in the 10+ yrs of fishing this particular spot on the river. We have noticed a trend though. All the sturgeon we've caught have been on HOT July evenings. Maybe not something to set your watch by, but somewhat of a trend none the less. The fight lasted close to a half hour, giving me enough time to rip home and grab my camera. The fish was also tagged. That info will be passed along to FW, and we will hopefully get some data regarding the fish's history. We estimated it's weight to be in the 30-40 lb range. A real beautiful specimen........

I'de love to divulge the hole this beauty was pulled from, but would prefer not to have half the board lining the shore with me. Thanks for understanding.

Definately an awesome fish and nice pic, but I don't think it's in the 30-40lb range (although it may just be the angle in the pic), I would assume around 20 lbs.

Great looking fish. One species I'll have to add to my catch list someday.

Cheers,
Doc

Default tag info

Drake,
If you have the tag number I may have the fished info on my tagging list. i.e. where and when it was tagged as well as how long it was.
