Wow, I think I can wait for my draw results, especially since no one got hurt and i suspect some nice IT guys are working double to triple shifts to try and get this going.
I hope those same IT guys work double and triple shifts when the website crashes when all of us try to log on within 30 seconds of the site being back up!

If theres a will theres a way. The gov. has more access to sophiticated and restricted technology.
But again no matter what, reminds me of the retired veteran CPS being charge of illegal access to information.

In a few days the draws were to be available via the 1-900 number - assuming that the database is good and its just the website that is down we may be able to get the draws on the phone? At least that was the original plan.

On a positive note those that would not have been drawn (would have known by now under normal circumstances) can at least have another while to think positive hoping they get drawn!

How about a bunch of us protest and picket the Legislature. That's what they would do in Quebec.

Fish without licence: July 12 to Jul 15 , 2012

A fire damaged a server, affecting AlbertaRELM.com website access, including

•Purchasing of hunting and fishing licences
•Ability to obtain hunting draw results
ESRD is working with the service provider to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

Effective July 12 to midnight July 15, the requirement to obtain (or to carry) a sportfishing licence will not be enforced.

All other sportfishing regulations remain in effect.
looks like maybe monday the earliest

Like I said. If these guys weren't so proud of themselves for making people wait to view draw results we would all know long before this.

I hope they mail me and everyone else their draw booklet complete with priorities in 2013. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I am off to Zama City for fire duty. Think it is an omen that I got drawn for bison and can classify the drive up as a prescout for the season! Yeah right nice dream at least.

Sure hope they get the computers up and running soon as would like to know if I got drawn for moose although I am pretty sure I did.

Best part of all of this is draw results were determined several days or even a week ago.....for some reason they just hold off on reporting them. I know people who already know what they got.....sadly I am not one of those people

Default Free Fishing

The My Wild Alberta site now has free fishing from 12-15 Jul up because lisences can;t be sold due to the computer issues. That might be an indicator of how long they think the system will be down

I work for shaw and before I left work today I was told they have restored all power but if everything goes smoothly it would be 10 the earliest that stuff will be running. Not sure if that's just shaws internal stuff or the whole building. That's all I know.
