Default Ice off lakes around edmonton

Just wondering if anyone knows of any lakes close to Edmonton with the ice off. I bought a new boat a few weeks ago and want to put in the lake to do a test and tune before fishing season opens again.

I think your just like the rest of us unless you go to Southern Alberta your going to be waiting until at least the long weekend but that's going to be pretty iffy .

What kind of boat did you pick up ?

unless it's a very small boat and you plan on testing it on the shoreline i think you'll be out of luck. i still plan on going ice fishing next week near edm. i have my doubts about may long weekend for open water fishing unless you head at least south to red deer.

Reality check...lakes up in Northern Manitoba area (Thompson area) are starting to lose some of their ice...

Had a buddy who went ice fishing yesterday and DIDN'T HAVE TO USE THE EXTENSION ON HIS ICE AUGER!!!!!!

It's only a matter of time.
