the sturgeon arent illegal to fish for they are illegal to keep or kill. only way to stop incidental or intentional sturgeon catches would be to ban all use of bait in the rivers they are in: not possible to enforce
I agree with you.

No.

This has happened to all us anglers, sad but it happens, you do your best to allow it to survive

Yes.... But is it different with sturgeon because they are endangered as buckbrush and Wayne claim?

Agreed, pickerel rigs are junk, I would personally support a banning of them. But it will never happen.
I guess it boils down to angler education.... So those in the know need to keep doing their part and educate others.

I still don't see how you can be charged though for unintentionally catching a fish, pickerel rig or not. Not saying I'm right, just my 2 cents

Custom made 70lb Pickeral rigs solves all your issues - Large hooks and there is no way your going to have a 40min fight with a big Sturgeon, unless of course your using some **** ultra light rod lmao - Seriously though using pickeral rigs out of the package is BAD NEWS for river fishing regardless of fish type.

Why would you want to use a rig that reduces sensitivity no matter how strong it is? There are other ways to rig that are easier and much better and multiple threads on the forum to show how to use and make them
