Default 3 hrs on the Bow today

Spent 3 hrs on the bow today while the wife was running around in the city. Put in at the southland dog park. Had a few good hrs. Pulled in one nice Brown. 3 Whites and lost a big ass Rainbow. Trout were breaching all around me. Even had a Brown swim right across my feet as I was setting up a new rig. Going to head back tomorrow I think.

This fella had some good eagle marks on him, was almost someones lunch.

Nice work Jeff. Some good looking fish right there.

When I get the chance I should bring my pontoon or my cedar strip drift boat up there and we should do a float.

I have only fished the bow twice and both times were shore fishing and only a couple hours at a time.

A nice brown and rainbow from the bow is on my bucket list for this years fly fishing.

Nice fish, 2weeks minimum till i'll be able to chuck any bugs, this weathers unreal and me and my crushed middle finger(on my casting hand of course) can't get out with the stoneflies...so depressing.

nice. what were the fishing "breaching" for? sub-surface bugs? did you notice anything on top? were there midges coming off today?

Plenty of risers today, nice to see some airborne fish. Midges were heavy on the surface, top waters were thick with them.

X2 on the midges. They were everywhere. Going to be back there tomorrow for sure.

So that's where all the fish went! Was down in Douglasdale portion of the Bow for a few hours after work and got skunked. It looked like a couple others around me did not do that well. Tons of midges on the top and nothing going after them. Still a nice day for the first day out this year with the fly rod.

I might try Southland area after work tomorrow to try shake more rust off the fly rod.

Very nice. That whites got some back.

We were at Spray this evening and I was surprised to see a couple winter stone flies on the snow.
