Exclamation Peace river trip update !

Opening day consisted of seeing alot of whitetails in the morning.. From there onwards it slowed down an got really hot. We set up a Stand and started calling for elk, just when we started to head back to camp a cow elk came out 150yards down the line ! Tried to put a stalk on it but got away faster than we could get to it. That ended day 1.

Today Friday, woke up at 6 am to the sounds of 2 bulls bugling! Tried to call but it went quiet. Right now looking for moose, so far only 1 cow and no bull winkle. We'll keep looking...

That's it for now, I'll update when something happens! Good luck everyone!
Sorry if there bad spelling on an iPhone in the woods lol

Default Update

Last night we sat weere the cow had crossed prior called a bit, not a single thing but checked the trail camera we put in the spot where we were sitting, an about 30elk came through 1 hour after legal Light had passed.
This morning had a bull bugling but it never came in sat at a wallow for 2 hours and nothing still.. Saw 7 whitetail and 1 velvet 3x3.. Nothing worth shooting or trying to atleast.

Out looking for a mulie buck or a moose right now !

Through dense cover, 55 yards 2 big bull moose bedded, dad draws back let's one fly ... Hits a branch just before the moose and the arrow flies directly under him and they bolt.. On to find the next target.

Sat up in a stand all night, nothing much went on.. At 10 mins left till legal shooting was over a couple of deer came out, I tried to draw back elbow hit the tree behind me and they bolted.. Not 2 mins later they came out again, I grunted they stopped.. I drew back waited for dad to give me a range 45 yards he whispered and they bolted again , then a nice 10km walk in the dark back to the camp. That ended the day, but ended nice with y heart pounding,. Just as I lay down in camp, a bull bugles to end the night !

Thats right, thats all I cared about! Being in the woods with my dad. I could not see anything but its all ways worth it!

But, we did recieve news when we got there, the land owners dad, a great friend, hunting buddy passed away 2 days prior to the trip. He was truely missed around the camp fire this year for sure. RIP Philipp
