Here are some pics of the 07 moose hunt. Picked up the tent at Campers Village on our way to the hunt and you can tell we never set up a tent with external poles.

Looks to me like you guys did a pretty good job sparky nutin wrong with that set up... I set up many a wall tent with rails (yes even some green ones) and they never looked no better than that..

One thing tho we should have some before and after pics eh,, I always take most of my camp pics before,, old camp usually looks a little rougher after a few days in and by the end of a week or two sometimes she can look pretty rough..

I agree walleyes. Sparky did a great job setting that tent up. You should see some of our tent set ups when we do it by light at midnight. lol

This was a few years back before we bought the Montana tent and cook shack.
It was 16x36......and we had loads of room as you can see from the pick showing the inside of the camp

Tell me about it. I remember one fall in WMU 402. Putting up the tent in the middle of the night, falling asleep and waking up to a wonderful full moon. I actually sat there and admired it for approx 30 sec before I realized I shouldn't be seeing the moon. The whole one side of the tent had flipped over from a big wind gust. I put my head back in my sleeping bag and decided to wait till morn.

If you want to save and also have better than you can buy. Make your own, I have the patterns you find the can, some sheet metal, tin snips, a tarp and some other stuff. Check out my album on the forum.

Hey what a great thread this one is.

Heres our stone sheep camp last year it was the first time i had ever seen this idea, and we were stranded in the tents for 5 days and this was very cozy beleive it or not, a piece of plastic for a cook shack on a great hunt. Tawny the outfitters daughter 15 years old was in tehre and hiked the whole 14 days too.

Here's the camp I like to rent every now and then.
Grist lake lodge - had some very good hunts there.
Boat access only until freeze up.

you bet dave that grist, been there a few times myself, awsoem little place.
getting there is a differnt story and a deffintly adventure. we mader in but on the way home i busted the axle right in half on the old mans trailer.

You should of seen his face and heard what come out of his mouth when i pulled into the yard after that trip, was 2 days rebuilding the boat trailer,lol.

Three of us boys in the family sometimes dads toys took a licken.lol

That's to help break the wave action and snow in front of the cabins.
That trip was a really gnarly affair, I drove the boat right out of the water onto the beach ( It's hard as rock, frozen stiff!) to ensure it didn't swamp with the storm.
if you look close, you can see that the boat is completely iced up!
Gunslinger, it's a really easy trip in now, paved most of the way - too bad, there are a lot of idjits making day trips now!

Nothing to fancy on this sheep hunt. We spent one night under a spruce tree with just a fire while a storm was blowing in and you learn really fast to appreciate camp.

I would show yo my camp but then you would all want to come.

The "tent" is an army modular tent, 20' wide X 72' long and an 8' long veranda where the BBQ is at.

The sauna/steam house and wash shack is 8X8 with 2X4 insulated walls.

We have everything except a microwave..

here's some tasters..

the shack with the blue tarp is the steam bath/sauna/shower shack.

This pic is of 1/2 of the size of the tent. I was standing at the divider between the kitchen and sleeping 1/4's.
