Default bassano dam?

hi guys. Looks like I'll be heading to bassano next week and was wondering if anyone could give me a few tips about where I could do a little fishing. I will only be there for a day or 2 but figured i'd bring some gear (spin rod and tackle) and try my luck close to town. I think the bassano dam is close, and also a river. Never been there before and though I plan to look at maps and google earth, a little first hand knowledge from any locals would be appreciated. thanks.

Hey Ninja

Bassano Dam is about 10 mins or so from the town, signs marked. You also have Crawling Valley Res right in the area off #1 hwy, 10 min drive in. Newell Lake by Brooks. If you go to Dam try above it. Really good for hardware on bows and pike. Lower good as well but rocky, unless you walk a bit to find some pools. Good luck.

20 years ago we fished below the dam quite a bit (on the side closest to Bassano).

Caught my PB Walleye there, numerous pike, and swarms of goldeye.

It is (was) a very productive area of the Bow.

Be careful to know where native land boundaries are above the dam.
