Default Mountain lake ice

Went out to a lil lake just inside the bc border today....
Ice was maybe 1.5 inches... Slithered out on my belly and axed a small hole which started gushing water so I stepped back n tossed a spinner in.. Fell in shortly after my second fish lol... One leg to the knee and managed to hop into shore.

The second fish was no keeper but with no way to release him other than lawn bowling style and try n hit the hole... I guess he will have to do for the smoker too...

Think I'll wait till the end of the week to try the ice again...

Good luck out there

Got a few pics but can't seem to get them off my iPhone

Yeah I'm living in valemount now.... Lots of great new fishing spots to try out.
Don't think I'm gonna try an ice fishing trip on fortress this year... It's too painful lol... But yeah really looking forward to some thin ice action! Guessing those pics I posted yesterday didn't work eh? That's weird they showed up when I previewed the post... Anyway am game for almost any adventure so let me know what u in mind!

Went out today for some brookie action and the had some thin ice n shallow water... Took some vids with my iPhone and posted them in the same place as the pics... Very aggressive fish today.... Ice was not great and the wind was howling but worth the trip

Good luck out there

And for you bigger guys I suggest you drag out a sheet of plywood like my 350lb fishing partner... He went for a full booter right at shore but was fine on the plywood

Sorry for any bad footage or excessive jigging times as my hands were freezing and I didn't want to drop my iPhone down the hole
