Default Net fishing in the NWT

I have been living in the NWT for the past year and a half and was able to procure a commercial license to net fish this year. I dont sell any of the fish but donate it to local community groups and elders. Caught some monsters this year through the ice. Thought i would share this amazing experience with all of you. Let me know your thoughts

Check out my Instagram @waynorthmountie to see some videos and photos

P.s. this is not a plug to get followers just dont have time to put photos on here to share

Too bad you aren't able to post a link to pics or video of the netting. Some, like me, don't use instagram.

We're getting behind the times Keg... Must be getting old. Almost like my Bullet is Red from rust and the Keg has lost it's cork. Time to put on the rat slippers and sit in the rocker by the stove.

I think I'm past getting old. A 100 yard hike leaves me wheezing LOL.

Funny too about this new technology. I studied radio electronics in high school, even had my own electronics repair shop at one time.
Got into computers at the very beginning. Learned DOS on an Atari 400.
My first computer was an Apple 2E.

But every year I fall further and further behind the electronic device learning curve.

Sorry no disrespect intended. Just wishing we could see what you have.

And the photos did not appear, but thank you for trying. It is appreciated.

Default Sorry

It appears line speeds in the far north are causing me some issues and work computers the other ones.

I Will attempt to get some photos up in tomorrow.

If you google waynorthmountie fishing some of the photos come up. The one with the older gentleman in the black jacket is my father with his 48" jack from this summer.

I followed your link and got tangled up with a whole bunch of your pictures. Good stuff. Your enthusiasm for the North is obvious, and brings back memories of my own time there. I cleared the access for the piece of road from Arctic Red to Inuvik in ‘70/‘71 and spent the next eight years, the happiest of my life, between Great Slave Lake and the Arctic islands. People now spoken of as part of history - Slim and Agnes Semmler, Father Adam, Eddie Gruben, Bobby Porrit, Shirley and Sharon Firth, Glen & Trish Warner and countless others were simply day to day friends and acquaintances.

Enjoy every moment of it; if ever you leave, you’ll miss it for the rest of your life. I sure do. I always will. I never should have left.

P.S. I have TWO 4’ Jackfish under my belt!
