Default Winagami ice fishing

Looking for ice fishing info for winagami lake.
Is there good whitefish action?
I've been told walleye and perch can be tough.
Especially interested in whites, burbot, and pike.
Thanx in advance,
Ken

From what I hear the lake has slowed down quite a bit in the last few years. It use to be my favorite spot to go for hard water perch. Very good Pike fishing in the narrows through the ice as well. I never did target whites there but I know they are there. We use to catch the odd Walleye while targeting Perch but not many. I have not been in a few years now though as we started going to a different Lake.

Looks like I'm going to Winagami next week. This cold snap should make good ice. Still hoping to talk to more people who fish there in the winter.
Seems harder to find many people who fish often north of whitecourt.
There are lakes up here!
Gotta go to work.
Good luck to all fishing this weekend!!

Thanx for the heads up.
I guess we've been lucky around Fairview, these little pothole lakes around have had good ice for over a week.Let us know when your big lakes freeze eh!

Drove past Winagami on Monday and it was iced over...how thick I don't know. Pike around the narrows is a good bet during the hard water season. You can access it off the McLennan highway at the Winagami Conservation Area turn-off (not sure of the Road #). It's about a 2 mile drive from the hwy, follow it all the way to the lake. The lake is one of the best commercial whitefish lakes in the province. How and where to target them recreationally I can't say...I'm a walleye guy and the marble eyes are scarce in that lake!
