Default Do AB Parks Campsites restrict tents and tent trailers due to bears?

Gang,

Trying to substantiate some info and can't seem to find it online (may be operator error if it's somewhere on the inter web - I find info for other areas, not Alberta). I was told yesterday that some AB Parks campgrounds restrict the use of both tents and tent trailers during the spring due to bear activity...

If this is true, anyone know which specific campgrounds?

Thanks

Peter

Yes they do.
I know Lake Louise does for sure, but it's season long.

Never came across a restriction even in grizzly areas. Maybe I never went to such as park? And as far as Lake Louise goes...…………….it's in a National Park not an AB Provincial Park

Default bears

Probably would depend on high bear activity situation then would restrict tents as a safety issue during that period.

In Banff they do tent tent checks for food and coolers must be stored in the trunk that was about 20 years ago.

I only think in National parks, when I camped in Jasper 3 years ago with our VW Campervan we were put in a "bear safety area" because of the canvas sides of the pop up.
Never had the issue in Provincial parks

Don’t the bears like packaged food?

Wink That's just not right!

Very judgemental if you ask me, bears deserve a little variety.
