Default 2015 Suffield Bull Elk Harvest Thread....post your Pics

Today is a day to celebrate- a day many thought would never happen- a bull elk hunt inside the Suffield Base. Congrats to all who are experiencing this milestone.

Now that there's a spot for photo opportunities, this thread is for those willing to share their pics. Thanks in advance for those that do.

Please- keep this thread positive, and good luck to all.

I figured the next Alberta record would have showed up by now. Can't believe that with 100 guys no one shot a bull today!

Understandable but what are we tag holders supposed to do at this point. I've been planning and looking forward to this trip for weeks. Am I to just stay home now? No. Go out, check it out and enjoy just not being at work lol

My good friend is hunting on the base. Called me around 5:30 last night and said by the time they registered all the tag holders plus all the natives, he said it was 10:30 before they got on the base. He also said he seen a few decent Bulls killed and heard of one giant being shot but no pics yet. He himself seen about 10 average Bulls.

I think it was happening anyway regardless of the rules. Remember all of those "subsistence" hunting pics of 400 inch elk one the base last year.

Default Day one numbers

I heard from my buddy that was a helper this week that 174 bull elk were harvested yesterday. They got a 6x5 this morning around 10:00am and they were the second bull through the check in today.

I know of two bulls harvested yesterday. Even some pics too.

I saw lots of elk, both dead and alive in there, but didn't see one that would go over 340"
Just me though.
Good luck to those guys still out there.

You said 174 Elk Yesterday? I thought there was only 100 tags per season? What the heck is going on now? Is this another well managed hunt on the base? I have the January hunt? Sounds like there will be nothing left by then?
