Default Looking for recurve bow/ info

If you have something used or next to new kicking round. Preferable a Canadian made, cari bow is ideal, but not fussy at this point. Black widow maybe a little on the $$ for me. I would consider two bows, one for practice, and one with the pounds for hunting. Getting back into it after about a 15 year induction into fire arms. Any advice is also well received.

Default recurve bow

Look for a Chek-Mate bow, probably the best bow for the money then some. They are now made in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Most of the stick bow shooters at our club shoot them and I had one when I shot a recurve.
The Archers Nook in London Ont. where I buy a lot of stuff had a few in stock. It is a long wait if you order direct. Cheers Roscoe

Default Thank you for the info.

Good info, I am looking to get back into archery, so something basic, to figure out what works for me. In terms of draw length and such, I am not sure. I am kinda a **** on the electric fence kinda guy and see what works, every times have had something set up for me I end up changing it anyway.

Not desperate by any means to get rid of my bows but I am thinking about trying a new recurve. I might be interested in selling either or both of my recurves. One is a Toelke (by Montana Bows) 52"-42#@28" and the other is a Checkmate 58"-52#@28" takedown. Fire me a PM if your interested.

I know this isn't the the buy/sell but I am really considering getting a new recurve. So if Thorsby isn't interested in these two bows they may be up for grabs if the offer is right.

Also depending on where you are located, Dennis at Git-R-Done in Calgary would be happy to set you up and is very knowledgable.

Chek-Mate is the way to go. I have a takedown hunter II and love it.

Hi, I just listed a Martin X-150 recurve with 55lb. draw weight at 28". Comes with everything you need: carbon arrows, field tips, small game broadheads, spare inserts, spare fletchings, shooting glove, armguard, and bow sheath. Really nice condition. You can see the whole ad and pics in the buy and sell.
