Hey just wondering if anyone does or has lived or worked there.
There is a place i am contemplating buying in the area and could continue to work in a.b but looking for a feel on the local economy in hopes of fully relocating eventualy if i do aquire it.
I would not have to be making alberta money with the lower cost of living.
Yes i have done online research in regards to the job market etc but nothing beats eyes and boots on the ground.
Any other pros or cons would be much appreciated as well.

I pretty much grew up there (K-Gr.12). Went to AB for post secondary but came back and worked at one of the mills as a summer student throughout colle'dge. I can't comment on the work situation at the mills currently, as it's been a few years.

Not sure about rural housing/acreage/land prices, but last I heard houses (albeit nicer by comparison) on Bridger Drive by the golf course were going for AB prices. The east side of town would be cheaper.

The hunting is great- I've shot plenty of nice whitetails throughout the years. Never hunted the bears but I know a few people who had taken large blackies.

Great fishing all around too.

Ya i hear the fishing is fantastic close by.
The place im looking at is out of town and easily 1/4 the price of the cheapest comparable anywhere in alberta.
Pretty pumped about it, would be all the sweeter to land a local job.

Not far from it.
Im open to anything and have a pretty varied skill set .
Background is 20 years in the patch from grunt to operator and everything in between.
