What are u fishing for?

For whites, use a wire worm tipped with a couple maggots fished about 1-2 feet off bottom.

For pike, use a 6-8 inch smelt or sardine on a tip-up.

If it your first time out there, head to Brownlows Landing. Take Hwy 12 West at the Lacombe off ramp. You will drive by the Aspen Beach summer village and go around a bend in the road you'll see the sign and follow the beaten path. There will be lots of people there so just find a spot and set up.

I have 2 rods on hand one with a wire worm tipped with a maggot, I try to keep the hook horizontal, I drop it to the bottom and just slowly bring it up by stripping line about 3-4" at a time then repeat. I also have a rod with a jig head and a minnow on standby for Pike and Ling.

I also keep a tip up out with a minnow about 6" off the bottom. Good luck to you and if you don't see any fish don't be afraid to move around abit.

We were set up on about 12 feet of water.

How's the ice at Gull? First time heading out there this year. Just wondering how the ice is for driving on and if there's lots of snow or if driving is no problem once you get on the lake.
Thanks.

We went out today the Grandson and Myself got skunked seen lots of Whites but none would take the hooks.

One of those 90 MPH jacks that measure a whopping 14" took the hook so I sent him on his way.

The ice is 16" to 18" quite a few people on the lake.

Tomorrow maybe. Ken.
