Default Prince Rupert Charter, worth ?

Have a guy wanting to sell me his charter booking this summer.
The guide has given him permission to find a replacement so he doesn't lose too much $$. He want me to make him an offer.
So 2 days off Rupert, 8 - 9 hrs / day I'd guess, salmon, Hali, but no flights or rooms. What would it be worth ? I'm thinking going rate of $2500 - $2800 and make $1800 - $2000 offer ?
Any thoughts from guys familiar with the area & the charter business ?

Thanks,
TBark

Sorry TBark, I have no experience fishing off Rupert but that number sounds pricy to me. You can go marlin fishing for less. I'll make some inquiries to some friends.

You may be right, without accomodations.
I'll check around.
May offer $1K and start from there.

Better ask how long a day is. Sometimes it's only 6 hours. Sounds high to me.

We went last summer and it all depends on the size of boat and how many people you are gona take and if you are gonna stay on the boat over night or not! we went on a 26 foot alluminum with 6 people and he supplied the bait and everything. All we had to do wasbe there in the morn and get off at the end of the day. We had a blast. didnt catch any real lunkers but caught a bunch of fish. We paid 1200 per day.

I waould start at $1000 maybe even less if he needs to get rid of it. If it is a good friend look into what is all included in the trip and go from there.

TBark,, a standard rate for a run like that would be about $800.00 for a 8 hr day for the boat. Offer him $700.00 and try and find a buddy and make it affordable. But a bigger question I want to know is what time of year. Rupert can be moody and where from Rupert another question that makes a big differance. There are good spots and not such good spots around there. Look into it would yah and we can get a better value of it. If its the wrong time of year or place it ain't worth jack..

800/day is kinda average for a good guide. You should be able to get it a litttle better if there is some stress on the situation. Who is the guide I've used a few out there and they are good but thats what we have paid top dollar no transportation or accomodation. The fishing is great so depending when you are going it could be a steal or it could be a cash cow for the guide.

Avg out of Hardy is 1100 for 8hr day and equivalent package now with gas prices. We charge 1200 but we do 10 to 12hrs on water instead of 8 and have bigger boats. I'd offer him 700 a day and go from there. He should have a website if he's legit, check it out and find out what his normal price is.
