Default pond fish

I just had couple questions that i was hoping you guys might be able to answer. we are building 2 acre fish pond on our farm up near Edmonton and i was just wondering what fish you are allowed to stock in these types of ponds.

Thanks for posting that was very helpfull. i just had one other question can you feed the trout in your stocked pond live minnows or do you have to buy a special food here in alberta. i just ask becouse my freind down in the states stocked his pond with fathead minnows before he introduced the trout to his pond.

as far as i know you can feed them whatever you want..
