I知 pretty sure when he gets home he値l go into hibernation for awhile, hospitals just are not a place where you get lots of rest with all the noise and activity going on

I just did a 10 day stint, worst part of breaking my leg was the hospital stay. I'm sure he's super happy to be going home, that in itself is very therapeutic. Some quiet time with family will be great.

Best of luck to you Jungleboy!

This is my first foray onto the Computer since going in for surgery on the 27th , I want to thank all you guys for your prayers and good wishes. You have no idea how much help it was to me .I read some on my phone in hospital and it was very moving ( still is). I have about 6 to 8 weeks recovery They cut me from top of the ribs to the bottom of my belly for 79 staples. And then it's Chemo which scares me just as much . Please continue to pray for me and thank you all again

Pete

Pete has ended up back in the hospital again, on Friday he was taken by ambulance to emergency where they discovered an abscess on his liver. He has had three drains put in to drain things and also had to have one of the drains added to his lungs to remove a build up of fluids. He痴 doing better now and the antibiotics are helping as well but he値l be in the hospital for a bit still. When I hear a bit more I値l pass it along.

I was really nervous opening this thread again Dave, but glad to hear they caught it and are treating it.

Hi Guys, thanks so much o all the well wishers and prayers that were said on my behalf. I got released from the hospital yesterday afternoon and am feeling a lot better, although pretty weak ( I lost 35 lbs since this started over a month ago).I still have a week +/- to go on antibiotics then will see the doc again about having the last drain tube removed. After they are sure everything is healing or healed I will have to do the Chemo therapy to try and finish off any straggler cancer cell. A special thanks to Mudbug on here . We have been in touch almost daily throughout this whole thing and he has been a real rock of positive attitude for me.

Finally: please please please! do not procrastinate on having a colonoscopy done. I let things slide till I was 56 yrs old thinking, meh no history of any cancer in my family. Well now there is. For the record I saw a headline today that said the American Cancer society recommends starting colon cancer screening at 45 instead of 50 Yr.

Thanks again
Pete.

Glad you're doing well Pete. Like you said don't procrastinate the colonoscopy. It was over a year wait for my brother to get in after I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer at 42 years old.

Glad your back home again. Get well soon. On the don't wait bolded part. Absolutely don't.

My dad had his first at 77 ish when a blood test showed up something. He had polyps but not cancerous. I at 45 had my first right after his because of it. Had 4 little buggers, non cancerous. He just had his second, all good so that means my second probing is approaching.

My younger sis was to have one 5 yrs back as well but she don't think it's a worry. I hope she don't regret that one day.

I will take a needle that makes you sleep and let them run a camera with snipper up my back side anytime they say to, if it catches something early. IT'S NOT THAT BAD. All mental. Drinking that horrible syrup drink is the worst of the whole procedure. I don't care what flavor they have it in.

I was gonna say as well Pete do you know what they're giving you for chemo. I was on keloda or something like that. Anyways it probably don't matter much what it is as long as it does the trick. During my chemo and radiation I had a tough time eating. I would recommend those ensure nutrition drinks if you have the same problem.

Well I am back from hospital again hopefully for the long term this time. They told me the infection was cleared up and I was likely reacting to some of the meds. they had me on. I am pretty weak and it will take time to gain my strength back I know.
I very much appreciate the prayers and support from my fellow outdoorsmen on this forum.
God bless you for that.
