Horrible situation and what a terrible thing for family and friends.
The article I read stated that he did in fact turn himself in, yes

Sounds like this murder was over some kind of argument and not just random at least

Outside of that it sounds like we are not going to get much else for a bit

I'm sure there's a story here, question being if we get to hear it ? If he pleads guilty, no trial, or plea bargains, more likely. we're at the mercy of what the authorities and the media decide to tell us.

Mounties on Thursday afternoon said investigators believe two vehicles stopped on the road around 9:30 p.m. last Friday, and the occupants got into a verbal, then physical, fight. The driver of a third vehicle then stopped before a man from that vehicle fired a weapon several times, killing Sansom and Cardinal.

The victims’ bodies were discovered on the road outside a parked black 2014 Ram 1500 truck near Township Road 622 and Range Road 84 the next morning around 4 a.m.

RCMP say the investigation led them to the accused man, who then turned himself in to the Bonnyville RCMP detachment where he was arrested and remanded into custody on Wednesday, following a judicial hearing.
Series of events as in articles

So person A pull up with vehicle to the victims vehicle

Person A got out of the vehicle

Person A and the victims has verbal confrontation( accusation or same heated words)

leads to physical altercations (fight )

persons B and C was in the vehicle 3 driving up and saw both victims tussle with person A

Person B shot both victims.

Then abc all drove away

Maybe it was the local crime watch on duty. They obviously have a gun ready upon arrival ?

Going to be very hard to argue self defense by not calling the cops right away. If thats the case.

Rural crime out there is bad
Rcmp are stretched pretty thin
You would hate to have to take them off of patrolling the highway for speeders

Kind of curious what happens with all this. Circled area is apparently the intersection where the victims were found.

Doubt whatever happened was serious enough two fellows had to lose their lives but something not exactly smelling right.

Which doesn't change the fact, that anyone involved in the shooting of other humans, should have immediately called the police, especially, if they felt that the shootings were justified, as in self defense. The police may be pretty much useless at preventing crime, but you still need to call them in a situation like this.

If you look at the map
The accused lives directly to the south of where the incident happened
In the press release, the accused is barred from contacting any males with the same last name.
Directly beside the accused property you can see land owned by roger Bilodeau
I’m guessing that his old man or relative confronted the 2 deceased and a fight broke out
And junior came to the rescue
Just my guess
Not sure if I’ll get in trouble for trying to piece together a probable theory with the info that’s been release but it would be logical

Even if I’m wrong, which IS very likely
The root causes of this shouldn’t be swept under the rug
There is a lot of people that are very strongly opposed to the ndp giving harvesting rights to Métis
And the multiple tiered judicial system had let down people from both sides of the pendulum.

In no way is harvesting moose, poaching or legal, worth 2 lives. Well 3 actually
And it’s a travesty that people feel they have to take matters into their own hands because the judicial system won’t do anything and the police can’t do anything
