Default what is the total number of fish you harvested last year?

how many fish did you catch and how many did you keep.

probably around 2 to 3 hundred over the season on my boat.

kept
2 whites and 3 pike

i dont see many fish floating so i assume something bigger gets anything that may have got wounded.

I can see this going downhill fast.

Fish caught:
500-600

Fish Retained:
40-50 RMWF
2 small rainbows
4 lakers
6 burbot
2 browns from Barrier (delicious)
maybe 8 brookies
and half a dozen bass

You can split these numbers between myself and the significant other. Well, maybe she caught more than her fair share.

How can you possibly eat that many fish? I think you should be throwing more back.

I kept none. All C/R. Including a couple pheasants and at least half dozen ducks. The dog was disgusted.

Awesome. That reminds me, a week ago I had Sturgeon for dinner. Won't be the last time. It was at some restaurant on Princess Island. Couldn't turn it down.

Well over a thousand. I fushed for a lot of perch. Kept less than my limt every time. 0 walley, 0 pike, 0 whites, a laker and many perch, they were so tasty. - also gave my perch up to Garry B on our last trip as a thank yoy gift. Although he invited me over for dinner and we devoured them. So tasty, thanks again bud.

Hi BeeGuy,

Just curious, How did you cook RMWF? I tried, but they are so fishy and muddy.
Any secret? Did you catch them from Bow River? or somewhere else?

We caught many fish on 50 -60 outings.

Walleye, pike, rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout and perch.

Kept 2 pike and enough perch for a few fish fries.

Boy is it nice to see mostly catch and release here so far.

Caught my fair share.
Only kept:
1 stocked rainbow
4-5 whities
2 brookies

And I make sure as a general rule that I never keep something big, regardless of stocked or not. A big fish is worth too much to me and my fellow fishermen for me to keep. I'd like it back in the water for someone else to enjoy.

Cheers.

Okay, I'll play

Last year I kept a couple feeds of perch (30) one laker, about a dozen stocked brookies and a couple stocked rainbows.

I don't even want to guess how many fish I caught during the year

I fish 3 or more days a week so i cannot guess the number of catches. I do know I kept 2 lakers from Minniwonka, 1 that took the hook too deep and was bleeding bad and the other for my chef neighbor to cook up for a large gathering.

Other than that I targeted Burbot this winter and kept about 20 for fish fries and one large pike that again was bleeding too bad for release.

Sure would like to know how you catch Browns in Barrier or any trout for that matter.

The Rockies in ghost and other cold water bodies are delicious.

Filleted skinless boneless, except for the pin bones.
A little butter in a pan. Add fillets. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook the first side just until its turning white then flip and cook the **** out of the seasoned side, crispy and browned.
