Default Snaring Rabbits - Color of Wire

Going to try snaring some snowshoes this week...I know a couple spots that are full of them. I know I have to use 20 guage wire or smaller...but the only wire the hardware store had was shiny copper or aluminum.

Does the shiny wire tip the bunnies off? Should I shop around for black wire or does it matter?

Just need brass snare wire , make sure it is quite thin/flexible. A native fellow once told Gene Walters a top northern Alberta trapper to burn wolf snare wire and use the darkened thin/flexible strands much better results.

X2 brass snare wire. Works good on squirrels as well.

Make sure u check a lot cause if there are coyotes around they will clean out ur snares I would never snare a rabbit unless u have necklaces set for coyotes one on each side of rabbit snare. U need a trappers licence to snare coyotes tho I snared a ton of bunnies when I was young. Fead a lot of puppies to. Now no rabbits just coyotes. Shooting rabbits ur success will b way higher good luck
