Default Anyone get their CWD results yet for their rifle season 2017 deer?

I’ve been trying to get onto the www.srd.alberta.ca/hunting/cwd link now for over 3 weeks it doesn’t work didn’t bother calling the CWD biologist just yet because it hasn’t been 6 weeks curious if it’s just me?

Only been 4 weeks I’ll wait 2 more weeks it’s been killing me tho can’t wait to eat my jerky, oh well good first world problem to have

Good to know, now did they call you?
Or did the website work then?

I submitted my head on Nov 30th so I’m assuming next week

I dropped off my Whitetail in Wainwright second week and still nothing back. Dropped two more off the last week and don't expect those back yet. I'm dying to eat some deer meat.

This is good to know! Thank you, does it pop up once you log in?
Just like when they show you haven’t filled out a harvest report post season?

I believe it is email only. They email the negatives to the email that you use on your relm account. Maybe check the spam folder.

If its positive they call.

My mistake. The email I got was from Alberta RELM and I wrongly assumed that it would be in my RELM account as well. Just went through it and couldn’t find it there either.

The results were emailed to the email address in my RELM profile.

3 weeks passed and I was emailed my results; both deer negative.

If they want better participation then they have to speed up the process. I cannot hang a deer in my garage for 3 weeks.

Another thing is the changing of drop-off sites with no notification.

So cut it up and freeze it, like everyone else does.

The testing isnt going to go any faster, just be thankful it's offered and FREE.

Hoping to receive my notification for my Camp Wainwright moose soon, I realize that only one moose has ever been found positive in Alberta, but the Mrs won't eat any until I receive the negative notification.

Default Results

So if its positive, what do you do with the meat ?

NEGATIVE results are provided to the hunter via email. POSITIVE results are provided to the hunter by phone.

All CWD laboratory testing in Alberta is conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (AF).
CWD test results are reported to the Fish and Wildlife Division of Environment and Parks (AEP) on an ongoing basis.
All hunters who submit heads for CWD testing will be informed about results on their deer.
Hunters who submit deer heads that test NEGATIVE for CWD and who have an AlbertaRELM account will receive an email when their negative results are available.
Make sure the email address in your AlbertaRELM account is current.
Watch for a notice of negative results sent to the email address in your AlbertaRELM account
Note, negative results are ONLY provided through your account. All hunters are encouraged to set up an AlbertaRELM account.
Hunters who submit deer heads that test POSITIVE for CWD will be contacted directly by phone by Fish and Wildlife staff.
Ongoing public notification of positive cases in wild deer in Alberta is provided on AEP’s CWD web pages.
Data collected from CWD surveillance is used to determine the geographic boundaries, magnitude, and rate of spread and magnitude of the disease in Alberta. These data also are used to support ongoing management as well as research done in conjunction with the University of Alberta to better understand this disease.

Yup, Saskatchewan stopped funding their CWD testing I believe. Fees are user based now, so if you want it tested you pay for it.

As information - I called F&W as the two deer I harvested are now into 8 weeks with no results. The link on the bottom of the CWD tag identifies the srd site and needing your CWD number for an update.

The very nice lady advised that these are old tags that were very expensive that they want to use up and that there is no site link to check directly on individual results.

Just wait for the email or phone call.

Here is how mine went. Antlered Mule Deer WMU 151 head was in the freezer November 23rd, hit the lab Dec 7, results back negative Jan 8 2018 in my email. Not horrible turn around I suppose considering the volume.
