Does anyone else find this very strange that sherburne is closed?
Whats smrid doing they pick a lake in the middle of the system and close it cause there's no one checking for mussels?
For there information there's nobody checking anywhere?
It really boggles the mind with these Einsteins

They are closing all access points on all their lakes, except manned campgrounds. I imagine once the campgrounds close so will lake access.

This is just strange. I will close a lake because I can? There is nobody checking anything. Was told by the chin host that he has no training and is just watching for non ab plates.. asks if they have been inspected and if the answer is yes they are good to go. If no he has the authority to prevent them from launching.

What about st Mary's. nobody at the launch. Just a sign that says to reports the host if you are from out of province. I bet lots of people drive to the lower campground before launching their boats.

This whole thing is just bs.

Default Get it straight !

In the agreement between the reigning govt and the EID , WID ,
Or the Bow Riiver System , your govt is in charge of protecting
your imagined rights . The dips are on it just like the PC s were .
not. And nobody will tell you to F off quicker
than the water royalty . They built those ditches , that water
is theirs , fisherman are just a pain in the ass ...and now a grave
danger .
In 2012 we fished every res . South of the Transcanada and
A couple north . Where there were legitimate launches not bad
but for most part , one garbage dump after another....pathetic .
Anglers do not police their behaviour nor their brethren.
There is no doubt that access at the present rate will only hasten
the disastrous invasive specie catastrophe .
Most users couldn't care less .
Reality sucks ....Join a fish and game club ! That won't help
anything but you'll have company crying in your beer .

Please note ....These are not lakes .....you have no rights ...

Default A Ggod reminder !

Over 20 years ago , Manitobans were warned about this imminent
disaster in the provinces water . Though the incoming govt at the time
( NDP ) promised this was top priority with them , the eradication of
this menace . The lack of any positives done , is a matter of public
record. The chance that the current power is going to somehow
protect our resources , is laughable.

Must have struck a nerve here. Maybe someone had something to do with the plan to try sometiing even if it makes no sense. Heard before that the officials at SMRID had to try something and that it would anger a number of people.

Also heard it was an attempt to get rid of the squaters and the partiers from taber .and area. Look what has happened at the forks!

I agree that the garbage and such at the launch was disgusting at grassy. I was witness to one of the parties. Heard stories of 200 kids there at times. Thinking this was more the reason than any invasion by zebra mussels. I know that there is no way in hell I would ever camp there again.

Anyway, it is a sad state of affairs. Grassy is one of the best lakes in the south and will be missed. Maybe a reallly good trophy lake in the future and ice fishing should be phenomenal !!!

Out !!!
