Default Lowrance 3x dsi question?

Hello, i bought a cheaper model Lowrance 3x dsi fishfinder but they sure don't give you much info with it! From friends advice and direction i am pretty sure i got the Transducer mounted correctly but not 100% sure since i was not able to take it out!

My real question is! Does anybody know what a fish will look like on the DSI models? I am assuming it will be pretty straight forward as structure looks exactly what it looks like! Does anybody know for sure or have this same fishfinder?

It will look like a bright spot or bright oval. Can even look like a bright streak if fish and boat are going the same speed and direction. The size will depend on boat speed and direction as well as fish size speed and direction. ie the longer the fish spends under the sonar beam the longer (bigger) it will apear.

As you can see the second image has spots ovals and streaks.

lots of dsi images on the web

From the Lowrance DSI install Manual http://www.lowrance.com/Root/stu/hds...-10169-001.pdf

"Shoot-thru hull
The DSI transducer can be epoxied to the hull for
shoot-thru installations. This is not a recommended
installation method since it significantly degrades
DSI performance. "
