OK, that made me laugh out loud. It's funny on another level....

I fished the Chin Reservoir SAWT Tournament with Cowboy last year and had a great time. It was my first ever tournament and I came in with minimal walleye experience, I learned a lot from Wayne in three days of fishing. If you're interested just give him a call and meet him for coffee some day, he'll tell you what's required and you can both decide if it's a good fit. His boat last year was awesome and I guess he upgraded this year, if you don't like going across the lake at 50+ mph then I recommend passing on the offer.

Wayne, I'll give you a call next week sometime. If one of the tournaments lines up with my days off I'd probably be up for joining you again. Cheers and good luck....

Default My mentor's mentor.

Wayne is an excellent guy and a consistent winner. Born and raised in southern Alberta and dedicated to angling excellence. Anyone interested in an educational fishing experience and a chance at the big bucks should sign on with one of the best on the trail(s).

Seems to me he fished out of a black Lund GL last season on the WCWT but typically he fishes out of a red Ranger with a custom transom saver.

Well things should get interesting with the "sponsorship companies" making an appearance at chin, as there are several teams who consistently place at these tourneys.

It is a good opportunity to see the fisherman both on and off the water and how they socialize with other fisherman. Some of the tourney guys like to party real hard which is fine but that kind of behavior can come back to haunt them.
Sponsorship is business as well.

I would be interested in hearing which companies are going to be at chin.

There is plenty of solid anglers involved with the SAWT that put up consistent placings at almost all the tournies.

Consistent placing in tournaments isn't what sponsors only look for its your interaction with others salesmanship, and all around good personality not an idiot. You don't have to be a top angler. Cowboy

Oh i know its not all about placement but it has a bit to do with sponsorship.

I have been lucky enough to be a pro staff member for a few companies over the years.

I was just stating that there is a lot of great anglers that participate in the SAWT events.

I am more interested in seeing which companies will be at Chin.

Default The other one has bells on it.

A sponsor would be the dream of every tournament angler and I know who is sponsoring our boat this year.

We are. 50/50. Sponsored teams typically represent a big box store (e.g. Cabela's) or a marina (e.g. Barry-Jay's) and are usually employees. The rest of us dream big.

I think Vanessa is pulling your leg.

Free (to keep our winnings)
