Default Old and new technologies.

I wonder which technology is the better? Which one would you prefer to have when on the land?

One has stood the test of time and the other is proving to be a bit troublesome and expensive.

Do not take this the wrong way, it's just meant to be humorous. Not sure if technology is such a great thing but years ago people use to hang their laundry on a clothes line and you could basically tell how old they were. Now with the dryers in the houses you have no idea.
But back on topic I will take the one on the right.

The one on the left can teach you to make the one on the right - and if it's a Samsung you can also use the one on the left to start a fire.

GPS over a lump of broken rock any day. Butcher a rabbit when I could call the wife and have her bring out a lunch and a beer. Right.

I guess you would want the tool on the left to find out. haha

Acheulean : a distinctive oval and pear-shaped hand-axe associated with Homo erectus and derived species such as Homo heidelbergensis. Name derived from a site in a region of France.
