It's fine. I didn't end up going there anyways because I decide to fish in a current instead. It turned out awesome because I caught 12 walleye and a nice big rainbow. I made a post about it.

Hi Everyone,

I just recently moved to Calgary, around a month or so ago. I am originally from New Zealand but have been living in the states the last ten years. I am a reasonably experiance fly fisherman and am looking to find some good spots in the Calgary area. I have got my fishing license finally and am ready to head out fishing, would anyone be interested in taking me and showing me a few spots around town, I am happy to drive.

Default newbie

I used to fish alot up untill probably 11 years ago, was a comercial diver and salt-water fishing spoiled me in BC. Lost the nack, and forgot everything I seemed to know... I was an accomplished fly fisherman, but all my rods and gear fly and spinncast alike has disapeared over the years. I would like to get back into it, but fishing in alberta is a whole new ball game. I dont have any fisherman friends, and the guys I know who do arent willing to hold my hand. Where can I learn how to catch the new species here and find some no boat acces fishing for me and the missus close to edm? Preferably where everybody isnt going to laugh at us

Next on my list to fish is Ghost Reservoir, Spray Lake and Crawling Valley(haven't been to these lakes in awhile). I prefer to go during the week but all my fishing buddies have to work - what's up with that, eh? PM me if you want to go and you're available weekdays.

I'll buy you Lunch and a Couple Beers if you catch ANYTHING out of GHOST RESERVOIR on your FIRST TRIP!

I hate that lake. Better chance of being taking by aliens then having a good day out there.

I was out there 2 weekends ago and not a single person I talked to had a sniff. This must have been 30 or so people fishing from boats, canoes and from the shore. Tough lake.
