I just started putting in for turkey this year. Takes about 4 years to get a tag. Never hunted them myself. I saw a pic one day posted on this forum by a member and knew I had to try it.

Maybe Xmas 2013.

Merriam's Turkey Special Licences are issued through a draw. Licences will be valid in all of WMUs 300-308, 400 and 402. The season is from May 1 to May 31, 2009 with a bag limit of one bearded Merriam's turkey per special licence holder. Hunters interested in this hunt must have applied in the draw by June 26, 2008

Considering that you already missed the draw deadline for 2009, 2010 will be the first draw that you can apply for...............Christmas turkey in 2013 maybe? Go out of province if you are really into it or want to get into it. S ON has the best turkey population in Canada.............or pick a State......................while you're waiting.

I thought that with the cougar population rising in the hills the turkeys would drop off but I think there's more than ever!
From what the wildlife biologist who is studying the cougars is saying the bigger cats are eating nothing but moose and elk, while the smaller cats are eating young deer.

Default Gobbling in British Slang

Hi Guys,

When I told a bunch of Brits that every spring Canadian hunters head out into the bush to do a lot of "gobbling" for turkeys they just cracked up uncontrollably. I was told later that the word "gobble" in British slang means to "give oral sex".

Cheers,
EH
