2016 Alberta Hunting Draw

Hi everyone! I'm new to hunting and this will be the first year putting in for the draws so I don't want to mess it up, so I've got a random question.

When do the draw booklets typically come out?

From what I could find online and on Albertaregulations.ca, you submit your applications sometime in June, but it doesn't say if the booklets come out then as well. Also is it the same each year? Thanks in advance, and good luck!

The draw info is usually out just after the May long weekend IIRC.

The booklets come out end of May and you usually have most of June to submit your draws. You can buy draw applications at Canadian tire if you do not want to apply online. Hope this helps.

I am not aware that you can buy your booklets at Canadian Tire, as I always pick mine up at the F & W office.

I SEE MY MISTAKE HERE.....I DID NOT READ CLEARLY FIRST TIME.

Yes, you may submit your draws at Canadian Tire during the indicated period of time in June, which you would pay for there, just as you would pay if you did it on-line.

Beware - the close of the draw period is NOT the end of the month; IIRC it's usually the 25th or so.

More than one hunter has been deeply disappointed when they tried to apply the last day or two of June.

Go to AlbertaRelm and open Key Dates from menu bar.

Big game draw opens May 31. Closes June 23.
