Me, too! But in Ottawa. I think it was probably about '85 or '86. Only concert I went to in the '80s...my parents would have thought I'd go to Hell if I went to anything harder.

Lol
My folks told me I slept (passed out???) through the last half of the show. That was also my first and last show of that foggy decade.

I only got to see Bruan Adams, ACDC, G&R and Roxette. My wife saw just about every cool band while working for Guinness in Irland. U2, Phil Collins, REM you name it!
I always wanted to see the Red Army Chorus and Joe Satriani and Garth Brooks.

All on one bill? Nooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Best single show I saw in the 80's:
David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, and The Tubes at Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton. Someone else here must have been there.

Wow resurrecting an 8 year old thread, but it’s a good one.
Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, U2, Rod Steward, Tina Turner. Loved them all.
Now it’s Foo Fighters.

Best Concert
Matt Minglewood Band at the Edmonton Jubilee Auditorium.... Enver was playing harmonica's.. ( he passed away not long after I think in a motorcycle accident) by the end of the concert the band had both balcony's down on the main floor dancing and rock'in.

Worked David Bowie’s Glass Spider Tour in 89 I think. Got to keep confiscated booze and other stuff... use my security jacket and get to front row floor section for most of the concert.
Elton John 84 I think it was collesium... fantastic.
Lots ofSNFU gigs
Pink Floyd concert at the Stadium... dint remember much if it
John Mellencamp at the Collesium was excellent!
I’m sure there were others.....

My favorite concert in the 80's was Raffi.
I'm glad this thread came back to the future so I could add this to it.

August 12-13,1989... Moscow international Peace Music Festival.
I had a small business at the international hotel Ukraine in Moscow where all the participants were staying and was lucky to have a pass to the hotel.... I think I spent 4-5 days there without leaving, lol! Between drinking beer with The Motley Crew Vince Neil and tommy Lee and having a smoke with Ozzy himself and buying him a drink- that was awesome! Cinderella guys were trying to get Ozzy’s t-shirt off my back offering to trade in for some whisky.... I refused!

Man did this thread and post bring me back to my youth! DANENYK66, we had to have crossed paths back in the day. Ever spend any time at the Londonderry? That was a great spot for live bands as well!
Favorite concert was Metallica , And Justice For All tour in 89. The Cult opened and got boo'd off the stage. Metallica knocked it out of the park, stage blew up on the encore and I remember it being just chaos on the floor!
Other good ones were Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, Alice Cooper and lots of others I can't remember........Good Times!!!!!!!

Think all I went and saw in the 80's were Johnny Winter and Yes, perhaps Dire Straits? Think that was 80's. I went to a great many in the 70's, after the prices started increasing, I got away from them. Something like Crossroads might be worth doing.

Prism did a gig at the bar in Barrhead.
Can’t remember the bars name though.
Hell of a show.
Not the ‘80s
But 2005 Blue Rodeo at the UofC pub
300 tix.... epic night!

I agree with the Helix/Headpins concert being loud. I saw them in GP in '84 or 85 (my 1st concert as well). Pretty loud in the Johnny Macdonald arena.

Too many good ones but the best performance was probably David Bowie's Glass Spider concert. (It was in 87 Bessie) Wasn't a huge Bowie fan but my gf at the time really wanted to go. Glad I did because it turned out to be one of my favourite concerts. The guy was pretty theatrical.
Here's one of the Glass Spider concerts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9fQTQ6z324
Most memorable was Mötley Crüe's Theatre of Pain concert. Was front row floor and got a shot of JD from Vince when they did their encore.
