Okay, a bit before 1980 but the best concert I’ve been (and I’ve seen quite a few) was Pink Floyd’s Ummagumma tour in 1970 in the old Edmonton Sales Pavilion.
In the 80’s it would be The Police Zenyatta Mondatta tour in 1980 at Rexall.

Now this is a thread. My first convert was Judas Priest, Screaming for Vegence. Crue always a great show. Seen them all. Except Ozzy. Bugger canceled twice on me. AC/DC was probably my favorite. Or Aerosmith.

1987 and 88 were big concert years for me:
Aerosmith
Def Leppard
Motley Crew
Depeche Mode
Madonna (At the Kingdome in Seattle)
Bon Jovi
Guns N' Roses
Billy Idol
Other Notable:
Eddy Vedder at a warehouse in Seattle
The Tragically Hip at the Town Pump in Vancouver
Played pool with Sarah Mclachlan in between her sets at the Yale
Worked at GM Place, so got to see U2, The Rolling Stones, The Who and others.

It's kind of cool to see how many members have been to the same great concerts over the years. I've been to quite a few shows over the year, and the 2 that come to mind for me were the Monsters of Rock show in Spokane in 1988.... the bands were Kingdom Come (a Zeppelin clone band if anyone remembers), Dokken, Scorpions, Metallica, and Van Halen.

Pink Floyd at Commonwealth in 1994 was my most memorable though, the sound was perfect and the light show was amazing.

I've also seen Alice Cooper 5 times, as an entertainer, it's hard to beat his stage show if you enjoy his dark humor.

Rock Cirkus 1 and 2 at Commonwealth Stadium in 1979 and 1980 and then the first Bowie concert there with Peter Gabriel and the Tubes in 83 were pretty epic. Was not quite drinking age at Rock Cirkus 1 so of course I abstained. My buddies smuggled in a balloon full of vodka inside an Igloo full of orange juice. Things were a little looser at the gate then.

Rock Cirkus 1 was Heart, Peter Frampton, Streetheart, Eddie Money, Trooper and the Dixon House Band.

Rock Cirkus 2 was Blue Oyster Cult, Heart, Ted Nugent, Loverboy and the Rockets.

A lot of the same concerts mentioned above. First was Streetheart in Peace River in the late 70's.

Well, not quite the 80's but Nazareth, 1979 in Saskatoon. Yelled as loud as I could 2" from buddies ear and he had no idea I was talking. Couldn't hear for 2 days after that concert.

Arrrrrrrrmageddon! carry me hoooiommmme!!

Oh here’s one for ya...

My wife and I (who was my girlfriend at the time) went to have some food n drinks at the Sidetrack Cafe late on a Saturday..... she was in a foul mood ( cause I’m kind of a dingus at times)... we left around 11-1130 or so.... after several drinks

I guess couple minutes after we left The Rolling Stones came in... owners shut the doors and they did a free concert in there till 3 AM or something....... crazy I missed it!....

I don't think the Cult was the best opener for Metallica, polar opposite bands! But hey if you enjoyed it fill your boots! I get it though, must have been a soft crowd in Calgary, went to a Metallica concert looking for Bon Jovi!

Not the 80's the 70's The Golden Era of Rock & Roll. IMHO
Bob Seger(before and after Silver bullet) ,Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Deep Purple, James Gang, Rush, Kiss, Bowie and more, a myriad of Detroit based bands along with too many Motown and R&B Bands to remember cause it was the 70's, things got hazy back then.

ACDC 1980 in Sudbury, Ontario. Streetheart opened for them. I was 9 years old and in the very front row. Angus gave me a couple guitar picks and I had my picture taken with him after the concert. I was nine years old.

Also went to Toronto and watched Rod Stewart twice in the 1980's and once in the early 1990's. He really put on amazing shows.

Rock Circus 1.
Billy Idol and the Cult
Guns and Roses and the Cult
General Public
Level 42
Def Leppard
