Default Keystone XL

Do I need to go to Costco and buy a big roll of foil?
So they cancel Keystone's permit...
Demand doesn't go away, but it can be fulfilled by shale drillers in the US
The produced oil can be transported to the Gulf and to Cushing on existing parts of Keystone.
Alberta producers take it in the shorts, American producers smile all the way to the bank.
Funny that a big portion of the resistance to TMX was also funded out of the US.

Gulf coast refineries are set up to refine heavy oil, of which permian oil is not

I will be surprised if we have any new major pipelines actually shipping oil within the next five years. TMX work will continue at least until the next federal election, but I don't believe Trudeau will actually allow it to ship oil.

Don't worry!!!

The Palace of Regrets is full of champagne Socialists who secretly were banking on the Taxes that were going to flow to the Federal Government because of Keystone XL. But Parliament will be hushed by the bad economic news that this cancellation means to Canada.

The Head of the Palace of Regrets, Justin Trudeau, is now wishing he did not cancel the Northern Gateway Oil Pipeline to Prince Rupert. But of course, he cannot say that.

Justin Trudeau can only slap President Biden on the back for sticking it to Canada on Oil Exports through Keystone XL. Justin Trudeau has to smile and applaud the Environmentalists for stopping Canada's Dirty Oil supply.

In the mean time the Liberals are staring at an Election on the Horizon with a tear in their eye.

This is bad economic news for all of Canada, and the Voters will say so at the Polls.

As a Minority Government that has no good economic news for the next Election, the lack of tax dollars from the Oil Industry is really starting to hurt Ottawa.

Expect a change of leadership in the Liberal Party soon. Justin Trudeau can only deflect blame for so long from the voters, and when key financial MP's like Bill Morneau jump ship, you know that there is serious trouble for the Liberals next Election.

My dad works for Enbridge. There’s lots of pipelines being built (most expanding on existing pipelines). The ones that aren’t being built are ones that hit the media. Which are typically ones being built to move “dirty tar sands”.

Albertans seem to have some ideas on how to get a truck unstuck, maybe that will help instead of staring down south.

I’m not saying you are wrong; I agree with you on almost everything here except the future of Justin. He will be PM until he is bored. He will win the next election with a majority. And more afterwards.

The only solution is separation.

And these refineries have been supplied by Venezuela and Mexico, both of which production of said oil is declining rather rapidly. So when this covid thing passes and the price of oil increases, other countries than Canada will make up the difference.

Yep, most likely at a higher cost than the discounted WCS. Be interesting to see what pedoJoe does when gas hits $4 down there

This is exactly what Democrat billionaire railway owners wanted. We will continue to donate millions to your party...if you keep the trains running.

Funny. Kenney, O'Toole and Saskatchewan barked a little on this one. Haven't heard much from Socks in Ottawa have we? Spineless pawn.

Makes me sick to my stomach.

Especially with the carbon tax piled on top. I would imagine the next election down south to be decimating for the democrats.

Those refineries, using cheap Canadian feedstock, and reselling at full market prices is a sweet deal for them.

Yup. Keystone hasn’t really been a huge factor for the last few years. Especially now that TMX construction is running flat out. It’s almost nice, KXL keeps the spotlight of attention on itself which allows the rest to be built/expanded without nearly as much opposition.

Now, the fact that Kenney spent $1.5b of taxpayer money (holy **** imagine how that money could have helped elsewhere???) on this project really ****ing ****es me off. There was always substantial risk that if Biden were elected, that he would cancel it. It happened time and time again during Obama’s presidency with Biden as VP. Yet Kenney greenlit this idea to dump that much into it. Just absolutely pathetic risk mgmt but they don’t care because none of the UCP cares about Alberta, and especially not Kenney.

Yup...my kid pushes the so called dirty oil....has a few pipelines he runs...so what is the difference between the old existing ones to a new one?

Pipelines have been used in the past so what's all the hub bub about?

A few tree buggers got thier gitch in a knot?

X2

The UCP bet 1.5 Billion plus 6 billion loan guarantee worth of our money on trump winning the election.

Kennys runaway train is running out of track!

Yep, I'm not sure what the liberals of the south are thinking. And I use the term "thinking" loosely.
What pedojoe is about to do makes zero sense for his political future. To me anyways

OK - Costco it is.
It'll keep the rain off too, as well as making quite a fashion statement

TMX has been dead in the water since well before Christmas. Pipe and equipment is parked in the snow by Edson. The Turd is hoping to keep BC happy for an election this spring.

That’s the problem. We keep on drawing the pipelines red. Democratics are like bulls, they hate red. We need to start drawing them green.

No matter how much positive rhetoric is released for oil and gas and the positives they create and how much of the products we use every day. Some just plain hate oil. I would love to see a viable alternative for it. But until that truly happens we are stuck with it

Oil companies try to get the message out but people are stuck in their virtue signaling. Canadian oil costs more because we have a higher social responsibility. How much money is going for programs to assist native companies and native communities. How much is going to rehabilitation projects, how much to manage wildlife impacted by activities. Yes animals do die on the sites, but they die on green energy sites as well as across the globe.

The greening of the world is impossible without O&G and coal.

Challenges welcome.

Exactly. Now there messing with our drinking water supply, world class trout fishery rivers etc. I have to wonder how many envelopes of cash get slid in to JK's pockets over this. This current UCP government isn't my conservative option for Alberta anymore.
