^you and me both. My guns are make+gauge/caliber when I talk about them to people who know guns. To people who don't, they're my "22", my "groundhog gun", my "grouse gun", my "gopher rifle" etc.

Great names though guys. I'm enjoying this thread. Some creative ones out there. To me it's like naming a hammer, rake or a wheelbarrow. But for fun if I did... go for broke.

I've only named one of my rifles, it's a Rem. 700 VTR I cut the break off and bedded it into an old walnut stock for bear hunting. Her name is thumper. Other then that it's the 06 or mountain rifle. Varmint rifle.

I've got a 340 wby I call Boom Plop because I've never seen animals hit the dirt that hard and fast,, almost named it Boom Bounce
