Not sure where canoe is but i went ice fishing at lac la plonge in northwest sask this past winter and the ice fishing was great. Lake trout, pike, perch. Guide lives right on the lakeshore and has a resteraunt with cabins to stay at as well. Runs the operation with his wife Jody. I think for the 3 days and 3 nights we stayed there the cost for the cabin rentals, meals, and the guide was just over $200 a person. Highly recommend them. www.anglerstrailresort.net

Meadow Lake Provincial Park:
Lots of lakes,
Lots of campgrounds and cabins,
Lots of fish,
Good limits,
Beautiful area.
I am going up there for a week this summer to fish with my
son. Lakes have always treated good up there.
