Default Does using chronograph change your groups?

Im talking about the type of chronograph you set up on a tripod with the double antenna type triangle your bullet flies through the middle. Im not talking about the chronys that attach to your barrel.

I just wonder if having the skinny wires within a few inches of the bullet does anything weird to the airflow around the bullet early in its flight.

Has anyone ever seen their group impacted by having the chrony involved vs not involved.

Short answer...no. Unless of course, you nail those wires with your shot.

No it won't. I always set my Chrony about 10 feet away from the rifle muzzle in order to avoid having the muzzle blast disturb it.

Yes the Alpha and Beta wave coming off the Chrony definitely change the POI

Of course it does. That is because you've altered the mass of the rifle barrel. But I should remain the same. Ask me how I know ?

Magnetospeed flings my shots 6" high.

A traditional chrono will not effect shot placement.

If you are paranoid about shooting the chronograph, it can effect your shooting.

Find a good shooting load, then chrony your new found good shooting load, there's no need to do everything at once.
