Default Where can you keep walleyes in central Alberta?

I just moved here last summer and I'm wondering where a guy has to go to catch and keep walleyes in central Alberta? Any eyes in Buffalo Lake since Gull, Sylvan and Pine are out? Thanks.

Best thing you can do is get the regulations and then read them.

Buck Lake is the only place any where close to here where you can keep one over 43 cm. other then that you must go North of edmonton or south of cowtown.

Wow I had never known Buffalo to have any Walleye huh.
Pigeon Lake has Draw tags available as a rule so you can keep two for the year you pic the slot size.

That was not ment as a negative just a wow! I began fishing Buffalo at age 8 and am 45 so I think thats 37 years I just never seen a wally come out nor have I taken one. So I have learned something I don't think I have ever even seen the regs referance a limit for the lake in my life time.

My Humble apology if it was take as an insult.

Buffalo Lake
the portion located in 40-22-W4 (the Narrows)
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Pike limit 0; Burbot limit 3.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED
the remainder of the lake
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Burbot limit 3.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED

Coal Lake
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 5.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED

Chain Lakes
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Pike limit 3 over 63 cm.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED

Cornation Pond – Open all year – Trout limit 5; Pike limit 3 (no size limit).

Devil’s Lake – see Matchayaw Lake below.

Driedmeat Lake
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 15.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED

East Twin Lake
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 15.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED

Forestburg Reservoir & the Battle River upstream to Sec. Rd. 855
May 18 to Mar. 31 – Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 15; Burbot limit 3.
Apr. 1 to May 17 – CLOSED

Gull Lake
Apr. 1 to May 17 and Nov. 1 to Dec. 10 – CLOSED
May 18 to Oct. 31 and Dec. 11 to Mar. 31 – Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Perch limit 5; Lake Whitefish limit 5; Burbot limit 3.

This is also what I mean when I say it is not acknowleged in the regulations as even when the limit is 0 they Identify Walleye.

Nope I like the advice I think I know a aouple holes that may produce with different tactics. I dont Know why Buff would not have them and you have struck a cord of intrest Gull and Sylvan always have and Parlabey creek I think comes from the Battle system.

In short I like the advice and being challenged to think about things. I have never taken a 20 + pound pike out of Buffalo either but I am sure they are there.

Thanks Gopherslayer

There's no Walleye in Buffalo. Not that i've ever caught, or anyone I know either. My husband caught a 11 pound Pike in the fall. My Dad has got a big one 20 lbs. 12oz., and has lost one bigger than that. So they are in there, but you don't catch them very often.

Gopherslayer do you ever have much success harvesting walleyes in this portion of the RDR? I would be interested in some more information, if you wouldn't mind sending me a PM. Thanks.
