9 games in the NHL yesterday and 4 of them went to OT teams in playoff mode in March, got to love it. Trade deadline coming fast.

And the Blackhawks snap a 22 road game loosing streak by beating the Coyotes

I think Florida, Rangers, Dallas, and Colorado (especially if they use Landeskog's LTIR space for a player then he comes back for the playoffs) are going to be very tough to beat.

Someone explain this to me. just looking at the scorecard for the jets-ducks game. Final score was 6-0 jets. Tyler Toffoli had two goals but ended up a +1. Am i missing something?
Is my math off?

One was a powerplay goal. Power play goals don't count as a plus. Nor do they count as a minus if your short handed.

I think there is no plus minus if scored on power play .

You don't get a +/- for either the PP or PK.

Kucherov has 15 pts in his last 4 games, pretty impressive stuff. Mac and Mic, the skids, only have 6 and 9, respectively.

Meh. Didn't Gagner accumulate 8 points in one game as an oiler? That's impressive stuff

Cool story of how the Star's goal song was created.

After a pretty weird start, Ovi has 16 goals in 21 games. Would have been on pace for another 50+ goal season (56, I think). I wonder what happened. New coach surely, but got to be something else, I think? He had a slow season when Bruce became the coach a few years back, with 30-some goal season until they figured it out. Pretty sure another season he had a slower start after what’s his name was hired as the coach, but he eventually finished with over 50 (on pace for would be a 70+ after he picked it up again, I believe). So maybe that’s just it? Never such a slow start as this year though. Hope he will keep rocking that net! I have no (or very little?) doubt he will pass the Papa on the total once he is done and over with.

He had some good words to say about Matthews after their game a few days ago. Wished him well and said he is cheering for him to get that 70 this season. All it takes, he said, is one 4-goal game and you are back in the race for 70. Lol. He said he believes Matthews could do it, which I don’t doubt.

MacKinnon has a 33-home game point streak, tied for second most ever with Wayne, only 7 more behind the first, who is also happened to be Wayne, lol.

I think Kucherov will finish up with most points this season (but can go either way, all these guys are amazing). Don’t think Matthews will get 70, but hopefully still many more to come from him this season. If Ovi got to 30, that’d be pretty cool, but maybe not very likely? If Washington ends up making the play offs, that’d be great too.

I’ve only seen a couple of game this season. Womp womp.

They did it in the clutch and grab era while McRibs is doing it in a non contact world that is a glorified game of shinny now….

Ask Bobby Orr how tough the game was back then. He might have a story about Pat Quinn to tell ya. If we are comparing…..

You could say that.
You could also say that they did it with goalies wearing milk cartons for blockers, baseball gloves, and kittens strapped to their shins for pads.
all the while being 5’8”. lol

Missed you the last few months on the oilers thread praising their awesomeness. Maybe just don't wanna jinx them?

Looks like there will be 10 players hitting the 100 point mark this year. Gotta be a first.

And I wasn’t chiming in when they screwed up the first 10 in 13 and hung a good coach out to dry.

When they went on that heater:

1st to 5th place teams : 0 wins

5th to 10th place teams : 1 win

10th to 15th place teams : 3 wins

15th to 20th place teams : 2 wins

20th to 32nd place teams : 10 wins

And last nights game just showed that there is levels to there “awesomeness” as you put it…..

But this should be for the Oilers thread I guess….
