A number of years in a row now, applying in 4 different zones, and no tag again. Really miss those hunts.

I drew with a sponsor. Pretty stoked to be able to go home and do a family weekend of whitetail hunting again!

Letting the land rest this year. Needs to grow some more big bucks!

I hear you . Been 9 years for Elk and 6 for moose. We have good luck archery elk and moose so not is all lost. But the zones that have some good trophy moose and elk only on a draw. Can't make good soup from anthers anyway. lol.

Sask res didn't get drawn for anything this year. Got a goat tag last year so not to many tears haha. Hopefully can put a lot of my time into a big whitetail. Good luck to everyone who got drawn!

My friend and I put in together in 2015, got drawn and both shot nice bucks. Applied every year since and nothing. Was a great time and looking forward to going back but won’t be this year.
Good luck with everyone that gets drawn!

If my friend that lives in Saskatchewan is not a family member, can he still be my sponsor? I've applied for a whitetail tag there the last 2 years solo and haven't drawn a tag.

won't give you the same preference that a family member will.....may as well just apply on your own and he can buy a licence if you are lucky.

Ok. Thanks. I wasn't sure how exactly that worked. Do you build points for each year you don't get drawn or is it a lottery draw for non-resident each time?

Right now no priority system (Canadian Resident Whitetail). Just mainly goes by family sponsor gets priority. This is my first year as a Canadian resident (Alberta) and not a sask resident. Drawn in 55 with my dad as a sponsor

I'm an Alberta resident(technically) and farm in Sask and without a sponsor I've been denied a tag every year since this new system came out. Max out all my zone choices! Once again I can't hunt on my very own land (family homesteaded there nearly 110 yrs ago) that I pay taxes on...what a system!

Best Thing That Happened to me....
The Last year I hunted in Saskatchewan was 2013....I haven't been drawn since then but in that time have taken Two whitetail bucks over 180" and another in the 170's right here in good old Alberta

Nothing for me this year on any of my families land. And my sask resident friends didn't get any of their draws either. Hopefully I have better luck next year, I'd really like to do a hunt with my grandpa before he passes.

No doubt it's flawed in some ways, and hopefully soon our deer will be back to the numbers to where they can have it like it was before.

Sask resident
4th year super A mule deer -- not drawn
4th year super A moose -- not drawn
6th year super A Elk -- not drawn
Its a good thing we've had good luck in the regular moose and deer season otherwise I would have to take up knitting or basket weaving.
