Default ATV Trailer size inquiry

Hi all,

Looking to purchase a single axle ATV trailer capable of hauling 2 quads side loaded, or a single side by side lengthwise.

In your experience, 8', 10' or 12'?

Thanks in advance,
Pyke

Buy as big as you can afford and park in the yard or garage, there always seems to be a need for extra space for gas cans etc. 3500lb axle with 15 inch wheels for sure. Get one with electric trailer brakes. I have had them on my sled trailer for years and it sure is nice. A nice rub rail around the trailer makes for easy securing of the atvs.

Mine is a 12 ft, 8 foot deck with a triangle 4 ft front. First owner custom built it so I modified it a bit along the way. Fits 3 med sized atvs and I have had 2 summits side by side and a little Yammy across the front.

Alum is good, light to pull, no rust but have seen on a friends trailer, the structure break after a few years of bouncing down the gravel roads. Steel is fine but lots of up keep to avoid the inevitable rust monster.

8 is too small. I have a 12 aluminum side load for 3 but a 10 will work just fine. Lots for sale on Kijiji just keep your eyes open and a deal will pop up for sure.

Had those 5.30 x 12 tires on my single axle 6x10’ alum, too hot just with my 850 quad.
Needed bearings so I replaced the whole axle, went up to 14” tires.
All good now.

Thumbs up

Mine is a 8' by 10' holds two quads side by side, can load from back due to the under deck ramp or by the sides as the side rail system comes off and acts as ramps. This also leaves rooms for coolers etc. 15" tires too, great all around trailer.

I would consider something like a 5 or 6 x14 and put them front to back.

Something like a landscape trailer with low sides and tie downs and a rear ramp. Useful for moving. Mulch. Hunting trips. Do everything

If that's too big. Maybe a snowmobile style trailer.

This is 5x14. Built for work but great for everyday pull around too. Long enough for 2 quads. Narrow enough to stay inside width of trucks. Light enough to avoid cvor annual safeties etc but with a 5000lb axle upgrade over 3500 lb just because.

If it was just for my own usage. I would probably go about 6ft wide instead. Little more room on the edges for gear.

Default Get a 12 ft deckover

I bought a 12 ft deck over last winter and it’s deadly. Can do exactly what I need which is haul sxs with hunting gear or 2 154 inch wide track snowmobiles. It’s 12 ft long plus a couple feet of v nose. Lots of 10 ft plus v nose trailers out there but they ain’t long enough for the sleds

Picked up a 12" aluminum. Able to load from side or back. Should work great.

Appreciate the info everyone.
