Everyone thinks the NDP is finished at the next provincial election but when I look at what our two largest cities (and majority of Alberta's population) voted in for mayors, I'm not counting on a change in government.

Well hoofrickingray.

All our problems are solved now. The politicians have spoken.

They can't just destroy the East now they have to mess up the west first hand too?

Might someone enlighten me as to what constitutes a ‘sanctuary city’?

Does it mean elected officials directing law enforcement officials to specificity disregard what they have sworn to uphold?

Of course, their being imported to vote NDP/Liberal, don't need ID, don't have to prove citizenship , can be bussed from poll to poll.

This does nothing for the NDP provincial vote. Actually it hurts the NDP because allowing these immigrants to avoid proper immigration excludes them from voting. This is a city council policy or bylaw. It will not effect provincial legislation in relation to registering to vote.

If a citizen aids someone who commits an illegal act, to avoid arrest and prosecution, that citizen can be prosecuted, the same should apply for a city council. No city council should be allowed to simply ignore our laws.

Once again, emotions and a sense of moral superiority, trumping common sense and the rule of law. Why have laws at all? Progressives, always looking for a crisis to solve, victims to save. It validates their existence and self identity as the Enlightened. Cosmic Justice is the new goal. And guess who foots the bill?

Problem is, laws may be laws, but selective enforcement kinda negates that, much like the Burnaby pipeline protesters.

The Councillor for Ward 5 who blew her lid when they were debating the issue is in my Ward.

Her lack of reason and emotional response is concerning. This whole 'muh feelz' way of doing politics is disturbing and can have serious consequences.

While the services illegals are able to obtain now aren't in line with what US cities do for it's illegal aliens, I doubt this is the last step. These bleeding hearts will surely advocate for more rights and privileges in the future, at our cost.

When will it be enough?

Not sure about Calgary but Edmonton's election for Mayor was a win by default. No one serious ran against him and there were a lot of 20 something's that just threw their name in the hat for a joke. We all know Iverson is an idiot but that doesn't mean nutty NDP will get back in.

Two weeks ago for the battle of Alberta game when the stamps were up here in Edmonton was a tell tale sign that not everything is rosy for the dippers. After the game was done they had a special 40 year anniversary celebration for the Commonwealth stadium. It started off with a laser light show and on the big screen the "Hilda beast" started to talk. The boo's were so loud that they actually had to turn up the sound to try and drown the crowd out. It made by heart feel good. Then Iverson came on and the boo's were slightly less but still loud.

After those two idiots were done you could hear the sound turned down a bit when the rest of the presentation went on.

The after the game talk show was playing when I was driving home and just about everybody that called in mentioned it and how good it felt that the crowd was in agreement.

From the article:

"The so-called "access without fear" policies help immigrants without proper documentation to apply for many of the services a Canadian citizen could, without being questioned about their immigration status.

A report says the policy will allow city staff to consider the impact of expanding two initiatives that already provide access to transit and recreation passes for vulnerable Edmontonians.

During interaction with a peace officer, several types of identification are accepted, including a combination of out-of-country identification and a bill to confirm identity and residence.

Training for community peace officers will be updated "to ensure a consistent approach relative to identification requirements," the report states.

Similar policies have been introduced by city councils in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, earning them the title of "sanctuary cities."

But who is going to pay for it all? Oh wait, never mind....

Edmonton is a burning dumpster fire and always has been, this will continue it's decline....

About the NDP, I've been saying since day one (well maybe month one) that people are crazy thinking they won't be in Alberta for another 4. The socialist, urban centres are going to determine our lives forward.

Progressive San Francisco had to implement a poop patrol to deal with all the human feces on their streets!

$185 000/year to be a poop cleaner!

The NDP is always finding creative way's to put their union workers to work so they will vote for them in the future.

I secretly hope it is -40C this winter, for three weeks straight, just to discourage the influx of new comers. I hear the new comers don't like winters.
