Default Burbot fishing,

Ok guys Im not lookin for anything then a general Idea, I have a buddy comin and he wants to catch burbot. I catch them by accident and throw them back. Can some one point me in the right direction to catch them. ????????

jig head with minnow/smelt on it. either dead sticked on bottom or bounced off bottom

Don't target them either , but caught one today that was 6.5 # , guess they are good eating but I can't get past the look of em . lol . Caught it while fishing for whitefish on a size 8 gold wireworm with a piece of shrimp .

I used to be the same way years back....LOL..But I got into handling and cleaning them....They are yummy tastin.....
