Default Evans Cherries amber

I have an Evans cherry tree, its been doing great the past 4 or 5 years with lots of cherries. This year it bloomed but the nutso spring took the blooms off before they were ready so no cherries, but it has a lot of junctions and branches with what looks like amber, (quite hard) has anyone sen this before or know what it is and the cause? looks like the stems split and it oozed out too, dont know if its just sap or something else. Im in the Brooks area
