We were there about three weeks ago, we had our best luck right out in the middle over 250-280 ft about 50 ft down. Anchovie rigs, blue scale ruby eyes and glow spoons were all working. The buddy also caught a couple on the blue/silver Manastee as well.

In June we were marking fish (most at 45' depth) in 100 or so feet water. Also we were several hundred yards from shore.
Good Luck

I've heard of Pink Ladies (I think thats what their called) but have never tried them. We caught some legal size lakers as high as 20' but that was in June, also we are rookies and didn't know what we were doing. Beginners luck I suppose.
As for walleye we were too busy with lakers (using anchovie rigs) to look for them. There were several boats around a point to the right and a little ways up from the marina. Hope this helps.

Here is a nice little Cold Lake Laker with an Anchovy holder in his mouth...

You use to be able to buy them at Wholesale but I don't believe they carry them any more,, you could try The Fishin Hole ask one of the guys they will know what they are .. Keep in mind you also need a flasher to go them I use Hot Shot flashers they are one of the best ....

You can see the flasher in the back ground in this shot,, I tie my own rigs with about a 5 foot leader but you can buy them pre tied with about a 3 foot leader I'm sure it would work fine.. I tie my own for use on the west coast and I don't trust anybody's knots other than my own when I have a 30# Chinook on..

You can buy frozen Anchovy at most bait dealers like anything else look for the fresh shiny ones...
If you do not have downriggers you will have to run a diving device such as the Pink Ladies to get these baits down as they will not sink on their own..
With the hot weather we have been getting up north the Lakers are pushed deep and this may not be the best time for to go out with out down riggers,, but it never hurts to try.. I'm sure you can hook up to a couple fish...

Thanks guys for all your help on Cold Lake. Just got back and we had some great luck on Lake Trout and tons of Pike..No Walleyes..

We hit the Lakers on pink-ladies with Silver Williams and Silver N/KINGS DOWN ABOUT 50-60 FEET DOWN OVER 200 feet of water..

Pike were everywhere..all sizes...

Pics will come later

Thanks again
