Default have a real beginner question regarding limits

So... quick and simple.

The province wide limit to have in your possession of trout is 5. So you could take 2 from a lake and 3 from another.

Does this limit reset once you eat one?

IE: I go out, catch 5 trout at one lake and bring them all home. freeze them, that weekend i have a fish eating frenzy and eat all 5.

Can I then go out the following day an take another 5? as i currently would have 0 trout in my possesion.

Yes. You can not have more than five trout in your possession at any given time. So if you have five, you eat two. Then go fishing again you can only keep two. That is how I understand it , and how I have always done it myself.

I thought the limits were daily, remember seeing somewhere last year in salve tickets were handed out for catching one running in eating it and goin back and doing it again.

Daily Possession
The number of fish you are allowed to keep while fishing in one day is equal to the limit listed for each species or group of species at the lake or stream being fished, including any fish eaten or given away that day.
When you are fishing at any lake or stream, you may not have in your possession more fish than the limit, or fish other than those of legal size, listed for the lake or stream being fished.

there are daily catch limits, and possession limits.

for each lake the daily limit is posted, but you can not exceed the possession limits for the province.

so you cant stock up walleye in your freezer. i believe you can only have 3 in your possession.

You can keep more after eating them as long as they are not all caught in the same day. For example if you catch 5 trout, have a shore lunch and eat 2 of them then you cannot keep another 2 trout that day.

If you are catching and keeping from multiple lakes with reduced limits on the same day you need to have proof of where you caught the fish(photograph or something) otherwise a CO might assume you caught them all at the same lake and that might put you over your limit for that lake.
