Montreal/Sherbrooke area

That time of year again, I'm visiting the old man in Montreal. Had no luck last year fishing the river and canal here unfortunately. Was wondering if anyone has been out this area and knows a decent shore fishing lake/part of the river in the Montreal/Sherbrooke area. I'm hoping to cross a new species off the list, whether that may be bass, catfish, muskie etc. I have a rod and a basic little tacklebox that can target essentially anything.
