Thanks for the report. Going to satisfy the itch and try the new 4 stroke auger. As.much as i am dying to use my quad .. not worth it yet.

Haven't gone around the North lease rd in a while, it's too unpredictable most of the year past the launch.
Ice was good, fishing for me not so much. Clearly I suck

People are fishing on the north end of Coal lake today. Might have to give it a try to try out some new gear.

On the South West end there is a spot to access the lake before a campground. Just check out the satellite map on Google you'll see it.

Skunked at Peanut lake, about 6” of good ice and water a lot clearer than last year. Went all over with a couple other guys and didn’t see a single fish.

Hey guys last weekend I hit lac la nonne - the coves have 4-5 inches of ice but the middle was open and fishing was slow - only one hammerhandle
This weekend I hit wizard which is about 6 inches and caught a bunch of hammerhandles and saw two tiny perch on the camera
Next I hit mink and star - mink has about 5 inches and star has about 4 complete skunk at both lakes

It’s started that’s for sure

Default Badger Lake

Curious if anyone is out near Badger and has any idea on thickness. Hoping to maybe get some early ice next weekend. Been super cold this week and supposed to stay that way for a bit.

I can’t attest to how thick the ice actually is but today there was a double pod ice shack in the middle of Chestermere Lake. I also seen what looks like a home owner has plowed the snow on the ice and made an ice rink.

Sylvan was finally snow covered yesterday, no open water visible from the main townsite .... will be going out on Dec 7 or 8 & do an ice survey at the Lighthouse area and Sunbreaker cove & will post up some pic's accordingly.

Season opens here on December 11th sharpen those hooks fellas.

Out on pigeon today. Ice is 7-8 inches. Ice is moving in on shore and sounds like a car like a car crash. Can also hear ice thundering out in the middle as well. Haven’t seen a fish yet. In Mulhurst bay. 8 fow.

Ooo damn! I was there too! I ended up leaving about 12:30

I was there at 7:30am and only one fish showed up on the sonar, I was stuck fishing one hole and couldn't move because my auger head broke lol

Default Mons/ North buck/ Lodge

Went out yesterday and hit Mons lake by Smoky Lake. 8-9" of solid black ice everywhere we drilled.... no fish in sight for over an hour. Went to North buck.....8" solid black ice everywhere we drilled going straight across one bay, again not a nibble. After 1.5 hrs went to nearby Lodge lake, only 6" of ice and got thinner 30 meters out from shore. Finally caught a few fish. Clearly its still early in the season but the ice thickness variation between two lakes literally next to each other re-instilled the need to use extreme caution. Cant make assumptions that if one lake is good, the next will be safe as well. Be safe out there and good luck.

How was the bite? I'll most likely hit up the north side tomorrow.

For those members from Manitoba .... buddy sent me these pic's today, from the Red River, north of Lockport past Selkirk to the lake and parts of the lake as well.

Historical ... never seen this before, this sure will be dangerous this winter.
