Default Been doing some reading feeling misslead

I have doing some internet read and starting to feel misslead. My question for those who know is I have a 28.5 draw length and my bow set at 60 pounds.
What size of arrow should i be shooting? currently shooting 400's. Really looking to improve my shooting just want to be using the right size equipment.

Thank you for any info you may have

Pending at which bow...some more aggresive cam and limb systems...but most @28.5 and 60 lbs a .400gr is at borderline light with latest modern bows...
If you have issues now I would recommend for hunting going to a .340...makes bow more quite...easier to tune...broadheads easier to tune...more penertration ...etc

And you only gain minimal weight but more spine...

Neil

what grain of point do you use and is your bow single cam, dual hard cam, or medium cam

Easton arrows will tell you 400

You will/can make the .400s fly...on the light side...
if you go higher than 60lbs again I recommend .340s
Arrows approx 29" ?

lol...26.5 arrow??...what rest????...a .250 @26.5 arrow is plently stiff for 59 lbs...the .350 is your next option..little more spine and weight...
however with the Mayhem you dont need the weight and at 26.5 you dont need the spine so your good....
but 26.5?

Neil

FWIW I shoot same drawlength and weight with a hoyt carbon spyder 34 and im shooting 340s real well with 125 gr points, on ontarget2 it does come in out of the green spine range on the stiff side which is alright I guess being that theyare gouping real good

Yup. That's what a very reputable shop set me up with a couple years ago.
My draw is right.... My wingspan is 71.5". Using a QAD hdx rest.

Have I been handicapped?

I wouldn't say handycapped. Depending on what your looking for your missing out some weight of the arrow being so short but that being said a shorter arrow flexes less on the shot so they probably cut to that length to have the arrows spined correctly. the positive to your arrow being shorter is you get more speed out of your bow. just curious how close to the rest is your point when at full draw?

My target arrows are 26.5 total length, I have a 28 inch draw....how else can I get them over 300fps

I also do not use those arrows to hunt and I can't spin a broad head on them. I like my arrow length on a hunting set up to extend to the end of the front of the riser.

No not Handicapped...but strange with a 28.5 draw one would expect a safe hunting arrow of approx 29" ....where is the cut end of arrow sit in relation to bow riser?

I have a 28.5" draw ....pulling 72lbs..... 300 spine. Cut 28 .75 or 29" i dont remember.. but had a hard time with easton arrows in 330 and 340... according to Goldtip i was borderline....and they recommend going one up. I have awesome arrow flight and broadheads fly great but bow and my arrows are tuned.

With the lighters spines.. i had to drop down to 85 grain tips and ad 8-11 grains on the back of the arrows to acheive good arrowflight.
